1. WHAT IS AN E GROUP?
An egroup is a great new way to make friends ,keep in touch and to
form an electronic
group that shares similar interests. In an egroup there are people
known as members,
thier email-id's are included in the group, and then there is an email
id for the
entire group for example mygroup@yahoogroups.com . Now when a mail is to
be sent from
a member of the group to all the other members in the group , one has
to just send it
to mygroup@yahoogroups.com and the mail shall reach the inboxes of all the
people who are
members of the group (inlcuding the sender herself).
2. WHAT IS " Funonthenet " ?
Funonthenet is an egroup (electronic group) formed with the intention of
bringing together people who would love to make new friends on the
net and also to share funny
anecdotes, interesting articles , facts , amazing wonders, jokes
thought-provoking articles,
cool pictures ,cartoons and such tit-bits in the web." Funonthenet " is a member of
Yahoo groups (formerly known as egroups).
3. WHO IS A MODERATOR?
Modertors of an egroup are membres of an egroup who have been endowed
with special
powers by the owner (creator/administrator) of the egroup. They may be
able to
control many/all features of the group such as group settings ,
approving/rejecting
mails , subscribing/unsubscribing group members , changing group
settings , etc.
4. WHO IS AN OWNER?
Owner of an egroup is the overall administrator and supervisor of the
group.By default
the creator of an egroup is the owner (unless and otherwise she later
transfers her ownership to some other moderator). The owner of an egroup has all the powers of moderator plus the power to over-rule/make/remove moderators.
5. WHY HAVE I BEEN INCLUDED IN FUNONTHENET ?
If you have been included in Funonthenet, it is probably because one of
you have agreed to subscribe by sending a letter.We do not
add anybody without prior consent.
After being in the group
for sometime if you are absolutely sure that you dont belong here or that you dont like the kind of
mails being circulated in Funonthenet , you are at your own liberty to
unsubscribe from
the egroup at any time , by sending a mail to
funonthenet-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
6. NOW THAT I'VE BEEN INCLUDED IN THIS GROUP , WHAT DO I DO?
You will receive two or three messages daily in your mail box.
They might be jokes,cool and funny pictures, inspirational stuff
,art and fantasy pics ,cool links to cool sites etc.You can also
post messages to the group on group address.
7. What are mail delivery options ?
You can receive mails by
a--Indivisual E Mail .This mode is preferred.
b---Daily digest --This is no advised because all attachments
are deleted.
c--No mail-- In this no mail is sent to your mail box.You can
read the mails at group home page after login with yahoo ID.
However you can no longer view attchments because as per new
yahoo policy they are not stored in message archieves.Only text
mails can be viewed.
8 ---How do I change my options.
Members with Yahoo ID can do so at group home page.
All members if they do not want to receive mail for a
particular period can send a mail to
funonthenet-nomail@yahoogroups.com
After this they will not receive mail.To resume mail delivery to
normal indivisual mails send a letter
funonthenet-normal@yahoogroups.com
8. WHAT KIND OF MAILS CAN I SEND TO Funonthenet ?
You may send funny anecdotes, interesting articles , facts , amazing
wonders,
thought-provoking articles, good poems,cartoons ,cool and funny pictures etc.You can send attachments as JPG, JPEG or GIF
files .PPS files are also permitted.All other files like Zip, exe
or doc etc are not permitted. Size of the file should not be
larger than 200 K.
10. WHAT IS A MODERATED/UNMODERATED GROUP?
An unmoderated group is one in which all mails sent to the group are
directly sent to
its members without any kind of scrutiny or check. Moderated groups
are those in which mails sent to the group is stored in the web , for
the moderators to approve/reject .Only those mails that are approved
by a moderator/owner are forwarded
to the members. In order to protect the members , Funonthenet is a
moderated group.

14.WHAT ARE THE FILES IN THE FILES SECTION OF Funonthenet?
The files section of Funonthenet contains downloadable text files which
are auto sent to
members upon subscription , unsubscription , banning etc, it also
contains the FAQ
(frequently asked questions) in the form of a text file.The url is

17. HOW CAN I POST/VIEW MY MESSAGES ONLINE?
A member of the group , may also view messages sent to Funonthenet in the
web by logging
on to the site and clicking on messages. To post messages one may
click on post after logging on to the site
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/funonthenet/messages , type
in their messages and click send.
18. HOW DO I SEND MESSAGES TO Funonthenet ?
You may send messages from funonthenet either by typing the message and
sending it from
your inbox (from the mail-id which is included in Funonthenet , funonthenet
auto rejects
messages from non-member email ids) and sending it to
funonthenet@yahoogroups.com
19. HOW DOES ONE SUBSCRIBE TO Funonthenet ?
One may subscribe to funonthenet by sending a mail to
funonthenet-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
You will soon receive a mail asking for confirmation.Doing that
you will be a member.
20. HOW DOES ONE UNSUBSCRIBE FROM Funonthenet ?
One may unsubsribe from funonthenet by sending a mail (from the email id
which is subscribed to funonthenet ) to
funonthenet-unsubscribe@yahoogroups.com
and then replying to
the confirmation message.

rediff users should click on click here to "view images"
just below the date line in upper part of the mail.
