Jugal Hansraj has done it again. After a million comebacks in films his talent will be seen once again but this time in the form of a director. Yes, that is quite common news but we would not want to make judgments on his directorial career yet as the promo of his animated film Roadside Romeo promised to be one great two minute show.

The first teaser promo of Roadside Romeo is really fascinating and comparatively far superior to the quality of animation that we are accustomed to seeing in India.

Collaborating with Walt Disney, Yash Raj Films seems to be leaving no stone unturned in getting the look of the film right. Yash Raj earlier had animation in their films Hum Tum and Ta Ra Rum Pum but this is their first full-length animation film.

The promo begins with a clapper which indicated that an audition is being taken for a movie and once it shuts, we see a cool golden dog. And that dog is none other that Saif Ali Khan, well... at least his voice is.
The dog introduces himself as Roadside Romeo and this is no ordinary mutt. Clearly, the canine has spent a lot of time in front of the television and knows quite a bit of Bollywood. In his audition he does it all. He becomes a doggie Gabbar as well as Samba.

Vijay from Deewar is toonized into a dog barking ' Aaj mere paas bangla hai, gaadi hai, paise hai, tumhare paas kya hai?'

Shah Rukh has competition as he will soon find his dialogues from Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge being mutted out.

But the highlight of it is when he does a Hrithik jig when the star had danced to the tunes of ' Dhoom Again' in Dhoom 2 . Clearly, Roadside Romeo's movements indicate that the animation is nothing but the best in the world.
Written and directed by Jugal Hansraj, the film also has the voices of Javed Jaffrey and Kareena Kapoor.

I am not Jasmine but she shared this with me and I am taking liberty of
replying..

Modi enabled innocent muslims in Ahmedabad to be butchered, they were
dragged on the streets of Ahmedabad raped in broad daylight while Gujrati
police were given instruction to look other way. No army was called to
protect them. They are human beings and they did nothing wrong, they should
have been protected at all expense. The State cannnot commit genocide
against its own citizens. Modi played a very dangerous game, likes of him
will destroy India, if this continues their will be no India. Muslims whose
families were butchered and raped will make sure they take revenge at all
cost.

Contrast Modi"s (Gujrat Government) behavior with that of US Government
after 9/ 11 in which all citizens Muslims were protected, mob was not
encouraged and abetted to kill them. This is the way civilized countries
behave towards its citizens.

Do you think it is all right if Hindus living in US are butchered if any
Hindu commits a crime in US. Modi is very similar to killers who were
butchered Sikhs on the street of Delhi at instigation of Congress goons.

NIGHT MOONLIGHT
beautiful moon shining bright
moonlight magic a delight
looking the shiny face in water
moon is happy writing letter
to the water tides in thanks
dancing with him hands in hands
what a lovely moonlight magic
i dont think life is tragic
so much beauty,so much grace
enough to put a smile on face

<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dilsedesigroup/join/>

<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dilsedesigroup/join/> ONCE an infrastructure
is in place, it needs management to run it efficiently. And according to a
Nasscom study, an estimated 40% to 60% of the overall Infrastructure
Management Services (IMS) sector may be efficiently delivered through a
global delivery model. This translates to a market potential for Remote
Infrastructure Management Services (RIMS) of over $55 billion. Currently,
RIM business in India is around $2 billion, and India is a leader with
global business at $4 billion.
According to experts, RIMS is going to be the next innovation in
information technology, making the otherwise stagnating IT sector witness
another high.

RIMS

It basically consists of monitoring and managing the IT infrastructure
components of a company from a remote location (outside the physical
premises) and preventing and fixing problems across it on a 24X7 basis.
Explains Piyush Dutta, head (HR), HCL Comnet, "This is carried out
through an offshore (outside the country where the organisation is based)
centre, which is often termed as an Operations Management Centre (OMC),
where dedicated staff of a RIM service provider monitors and manages the IT
infrastructure, ensuring guaranteed uptimes, availability and enhanced
performance."

THE INDUSTRY

RIMS provide an alternate model of global sourcing for IT operations. HCL
Comnet started the first RIM services in India more than five years ago and
presently, it has eight facilities in India besides service delivery from
the US, UK, Poland, North Ireland, Malaysia, Singapore, China and Saudi
Arabia.
The major Indian players active in this sector are HCL, Wipro, TCS,
Infosys and Satyam, while global players include EDS, IBM, HP, CSC and
Accenture, among others.

E M P LOY M E N T MATRIX

For HCL, the growth of RIMS customers is 100%. Although the industry is at a
nascent stage, it has a potential to offer significant employment
opportunities. It has over 75 Fortune Global 2000 companies in its
clientele.
According to Dutta, there will be a huge demand for workforce with more
and more companies diversifying into this sector along with the present
existing
players increasing their investment in the near future.
According to HR sources from Infosys, Mysore, the growth of RIMS is
around 75% at present and this will witness growth of employment
opportunities between 50-60%.
According to Dutta, his company will need a skilled workforce of around
4,000 to maintain its 74% year-onyear revenue growth.
RIM offers starting salaries equivalent to those offered in the software
industry. Another truth is that a career in RIM offers a continuous learning
curve to its practitioners in three facets: skills, scale and domain.
As regards skills, one has to consistently upgrade their knowledge and
grasp new te c h n o l o g i e s entering the IT i n f ra s t r u c t u re
space. As manufacturers launch new products and software every other day,
enterprises have to ensure that they have capabilities to handle the current
ones as well as build people's skill sets for taking care of the new
technologies that keep getting inducted into the IT environment.
The challenge therefore lies in that one cannot forget the old
technologies/ protocols, because one might have to manage old databases, as
well, for a client.
Secondly, RIM provides a technically challenging career because of the
scale and size of the work environment and lastly, the domain.
RIM as a career allows a practitioner to grow not only vertically from
the level of an 'individual contributor' to a 'strategic leader', but also
gives him an opportunity to expand his skill set across various domains. For
example, a Unix expert can diversify his skills into Windows or Database
tracks.
Moreover, it gives a graduate engineer or a technical diploma holder an
opportunity to grow to the level of a manager or consultant in a short span
of five years through focused growth programmes.
Most service providers provide a fast-track growth path wherein an
employee can grow from being an individual contributor to a leader. In HCL,
an individual contributor can be in a leadership position in 8-10 years,
against the typical industry practice of 10-12 years.

PLACEMENT PLAN

Most service providers recruit graduates in BA, Bachelor's in computer
application (BCA), BSc or even diploma holders in computers, or a
certification like NIIT.
According to Dutta, "At present, these constitute 30% of the employees
and the rest are experienced professionals from the IT industry. In 2008,
our strategy will be to go to colleges and train undergraduate students a
year before they complete their graduation. We are tying up with various
colleges who are agreeing to run a course for us with credit transfer."

Rama Setu: 'rationa' DMK should abandon Setu Channel, set up MEZ

http://kalyan98.wordpress.com/2007/12/18/rama-setu-rational-dmk-should-abandon-setu-channel-set-up-marine-economic-zone-and-coastal-railway-lines-in-tamilnadu/

Rama Setu: 'rational' DMK should abandon Setu Channel, set up Marine
Economic Zone and coastal Railway lines in Tamilnadu – Dr. Subramanian Swamy

1. The tenor of speeches and the resolutions passed in the recent
youth convention of the DMK at Tirunelveli, and which was attended by the
DMK Chief and TNCM Mr. Karunanidhi, exhibits impotent anger and deep
frustration of the DMK in not been able to get implemented the Sethusamudram
Ship Channel Project (SSCP). The project is stalled because it calls for
cutting a canal of 300 metres wide through the Rama Setu. On my petition,
the Supreme Court has granted an injunction to prevent any damage to the
Setu.
2. The DMK has been for the first time frustrated from doing what it
wants. The party has always thought that if it is in power in the State and
a coalition partner in the Centre then they can get anything implemented of
their choice.
3. Unfortunately this time the DMK has failed because they went
against Bhagwan Sri Rama. Earlier attempts to secretly break the Setu by
dredger came to naught because the dredger itself broke instead of the Setu.

4. It is a bogus claim of the DMK that the SSCP will benefit the
coastal residents of Tamil Nadu. On the contrary, 500,000 fishermen and
their families will become unemployed if the SSCP is implemented.
5. The coastal regions of the State can be better benefited if we
build a broad-gauge double railway line from Tuticorin Port along the Coast
all the way to Chennai, thereby connecting to Kolkata. The Gulf of Mannar
and Palk Strait should be declared a Marine Economic Zone, and developed as
a fishing industry.
6. The Rama Setu should be declared as a pilgrim centre and enable
Hindus from all over India including from the DMK to come with facility to
the area. Recently, DMK's Information Minister P. Illamvazuthi, a Dalit,
quietly left the Tirunelveli DMK convention and with his wife, went to
Rameshwaram to pray to Shiva and Lord Rama to forgive him for his party's
demand to demolish the Rama Setu.

If Karunanidhi cannot bring 'rationality' in his own party, how can he
expect the Tamils not to worship Lord Rama and the Rama Setu?

1. It is time for Mr. Karunanidhi to realize that his brand of
Dravidian politics has failed. Tamil Nadu is largely of Hindu-minded people,
and while other religious minorities live in harmony. Hence rationalism of
the DK variety to which Karunanidhi claims legacy, has no future in the
State. Time now for him to go into retirement.

I will be appearing for class X ICSE board exams this year. Though I aim to
excel but I think I am not putting in my best effort. My parents and
teachers have a lot of expectations from me and I don't want to let them
down. Another problem is that I feel very sleepy which I guess is a major
hindrance to my progress. Please help.
Shikhar

a

Besides our own expectations, more often than not, we are also burdened with
the pressure stemming from our parents, friends, families and teachers and
trying to live up to these expectations frequently creates feelings of
nervousness and anxiety within an individual. At times, this may manifest
itself into a tendency to try and avoid things that may be particularly
relevant to the achievement of one's goals. So your feeling sleepy and being
hindered in your studies by unrelated events can be seen as a possible sign
of anxiety. And the best way of overcoming this will be to force yourself to
get down to your studies, starting with topics that you find relatively
easier and gradually moving to the difficult ones.Take some guidance from
your teachers or elders on ways to improve your scores. Also, take regular
self-tests to help build your confidence. Try these things and I am sure
that things will work out for you soon.

?

I am a class X student and will be appearing for my board exams this year.
My problem is that I am an average student and I am unable to concentrate on
my studies. Also, my principal has given me a last chance to improve my
scores in pre-boards, else I won't be allowed to appear for boards. What
should I do?
Priya Gupta

a

Many students experience such anxiety where concentrating on studies tends
to be difficult despite the overburdening pressure of board exams. However,
it is also important to constantly remind yourself of the relevance and
importance of these exams and try and gear up to work even harder. To
improve your concentration, ensure that you sit on a study table while
studying with no other book other than your textbook. Also, there shouldn't
be any distractions around like a television, radio or a cell phone. Before
you start studying, pick up a newspaper and circle all the alphabet e's in a
single paragraph as it helps improve concentration. Also, start with topics
that you find relatively easy and then move to the difficult ones to help
build confidence in yourself. Finally, take regular self-tests, which will
help you assess your strengths and weaknesses and will also help you
identify your weaker areas where you need to put in an extra effort. Try
these things and your performance will surely improve.

?

I am 21 years old and my problem is that I am too sensitive. I feel offended
at small things and end up crying. Consequently, I feel frustrated and lose
my temper. What should I do? Ruchi Dhawan

a

Every individual has his/her own idiosyncratic way of responding to events
and situations. Some individuals appear to be more calm
and collected, while others tend to be easily agitated by situations.
However, the way we perceive, interpret and eventually respond to
situations, most certainly does influence our moods and behaviour following
the experience. Thus, if the way one reacts to situations and the way one is
influenced by events is something that is bothersome, then one should
certainly try and make efforts to alter it.I think you should take the help
of some professional psychologist. In the meantime, however, it would also
be essential to build your social support network and when you are faced
with such situations, take a step back, think first about the situation and
the consequences of your intuitive reaction and then make a conscious
decision to react to it.

Home Remedies for BALDNESS

Posted by: "Syed Misbahuddin" u_misbah2201@yahoo.com   u_misbah2201

Tue Dec 18, 2007 8:43 am (PST)

BALDNESS

digg_url = 'http://www.morphemeremedies.com/homeremedies_baldness.htm'; digg_title = 'Home Remedies for Baldness - Simple and Best - Highly Researched'; digg_bodytext = 'I like these home remedies for baldness. These home remedies works wonderfully.'; digg_topic = 'Health'; Partial or complete loss of hair on the scalp is common among men. It is less commonly found in women. Premature baldness is found in certain families. Thinning of the hair is often seen in older women, but complete baldness in the female is fortunately rare. Temporary baldness may occur following a fever or some prolonged illness. The hair usually returns after the patient has recovered from the illness.

Sudden loss of the hair in certain areas is a condition, which is called alopecia areata, may sometimes occur after a nervous shock. This may disappear in a few weeks, although sometimes it will recur. In females excessive hair loss is seen after delivery and during lactation. This is only due to hormonal changes in the body and due to suckling of the milk by the child. This disappears after the child stops weaning. It is not a permanent problem.

In children falling of hair occurs due to many reasons such as severe headache, dim eyesight, after a prolonged illness, use of different shampoos and soaps, after a severe head injury and a familial tendency. Generally it is seen that if the parents have thin hair and early loss of hair in their life so is their children.

Hormones in our body check the development of hair that growss after puberty. The male hormone, testosterone, checks the beard, body hair and hair in the armpits. The female hormone, estrogen, prevents hair growth on the chin and helps it to grow on the head. Occasionally women develop signs of hair loss or baldness when estrogen levels falls. Treatment with estrogen has been successful in the treatment of hair growth and stopping of hair loss.

The healthy condition of the hair depends, on the intake of sufficient amounts of essential nutrients in the daily diet. Persons with a tendency to lose hair should take a well-balanced and correct diet, made up of foods, which, in combination, should supply all the essential nutrients. It has been found that a diet, which contains large quantities of seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables and fruits, would provide adequate amounts of all the essential nutrients.

Many people use various shampoos and creams to prevent hair loss but with no gain.

HOME REMEDIES FOR BALDNESS

Boil 1-cup mustard oil with 4 tablespoon henna leaves. Filter the mixture and put it in a bottle. Massage on the bald patches regularly.

Massage the scalp for 10 to 15 minutes after bathing it with water. This increases the blood circulation and strengthens the hair follicles in the scalp. For baldness treatment, cut one lemon (or an orange for dry hair). Place in a pot with two cups water. Boil until half of solution remains. Cool, strain, and place in a spray bottle. Store in refrigerator. If it is sticky, add more water.
Take 10-15 leaves of the large Ber fruit. Burn them in mustard oil, make a paste and apply on hair for 1 hour and then wash it. This remedy prevents hair loss for almost everyone.
Another valuable remedy for hair loss is Amaranth. Its fresh leaf juice should be applied to the hair. It will help the growth of the hair and keep it soft.
The leaves of the margosa tree are also beneficial in the treatment of hair loss.

Creative career

I am in second year pursuing BBA and I want to opt for a postgraduate course
in advertising and public relations. What is its scope and which are the
known institutes for the same? Is work experience necessary?
Piya Joshi
Public Relations (PR) professionals work in public relations firms,
advertising agencies, large business houses, non-profit organisations, media
and entertainment companies, hotels, tourism, hospitals, MNCs (corporate
communication) , lobbies and pressure groups. You need good communication
skills, written and oral, to get your foot in the door.
Almost every ministry in the government has an information/liaison
officer to handle press relations and public relations. All public sector
enterprises, government information departments, trade fair authorities and
banks and other financial institutions employ PROs and corporate
communication professionals.
The travel and hospitality industry also hires publicity officers. A
hotel may hire you as a guest-relations officer and the package here is much
better. The work will range from researching and creating content to media
relations and business development. With sufficient experience in hand, you
can also start your own PR consulting service.
Typically for a postgraduate diploma course in advertising and PR, work
experience is not mandatory. Some of the leading institutes are:
Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), New Delhi,
www.iimc.nic.in, course: PG diploma in advertising and public relations,
one-year
Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, www.nmims.edu,
course: PGDBM, specialisation in advertising
MICA, Ahmedabad, www.micaindia.net, offers two courses: certificate
programme in PR and event management, nine-month, fulltime residential and
postgraduate programme in communications (with specialisation in corporate
communication and public relations.
Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, Pune, www.simc.edu, courses,
two-year: Master's programme in mass communication/communication management.

Xavier Institute of Communications, Mumbai, www.xaviercomm.org/courses.
Courses: PG diploma in public relations.
Makhanlal Chaturvedi Rashtriya Patrakarita Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal,
Madhya Pradesh, www.mcu.ac.in, course: MA in advertising and PR/broadcast
journalism/mass communication
Besides these, Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, YMCA and YWCA centres all over the
country offer courses in PR and advertising.

Migration woes

I am working with a leading bank. My company has given me a transfer to
China. I am wondering whether to accept the offer or not as it would mean
living far away from my family. Please guide.
Binoy Chatterjee
Getting China on one's CV has been a big trend in western economies and now
Indian executives have realised that China is a completely new world. They
are happy to flaunt the Chinese experience on their CVs.The number of
Indians ready to take on jobs in China has gone up. Cities like Beijing,
Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu are the main attractions for Indians.
A host of companies across sectors such as Gati, L&T, Mahindra and
Mahindra, TCS, Cognizant, Bank of Baroda and SBI have been sending their
executives to China to expand their overseas operations. One of the reasons
for doing so is to overcome the language barrier that exists in the country.
Moreover, in order to provide better career opportunities, companies
encourage the China stint, as it is one of the fastest growing economies.
Even if you have to live away from your family for a few years, it
doesn't matter if your future holds bright in the long run.

Which way

I am in class XII and planning to join a five-year integrated MBA programme
offered by a university in South-India. Please let me know its worth and
prospects. Does an integrated MBA have the same value as a regular MBA or
should I pursue a BTech instead?
Farida Elavia
While integrated courses are fine, they are not of much value unless done
from a top-notch institution. It may be better to do your graduation first,
particularly if you are a science student and contemplating a BTech anyway.
Work for a while to gain some practical experience and then try for an MBA
from a really good Bschool that offers excellent placement facilities.
This is a better option than tying yourself down to a mediocre fiveyear
course. Moreover, a technomanagement qualification is highly rated in the
job market

Teaching wise

I have completed MSc in zoology. If I pursue BEd, can I teach biotechnology
at the school level?
Purnima Rawal
To teach biotechnology, you need a postgraduate degree in
biotechnology/biochemistry/genetics/microbiology/life sciences.
The biotechnology syllabus demands a different kind of content expertise
and teachers who have done MSc in botany or zoology are not eligible to
teach the subject at the senior secondary level.

Open University (Ignou) and Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) are
partnering for the first distance education and training programme for
professionals working with the differently-abled in India.
Educators feel that the syllabus for special education and training of
teachers are quite outdated compared to many other countries. Although in
teacher's education and training curriculum, there are components on special
education, it is not taken seriously.
According to Ignou sources, the partnership is aimed at training and
education programmes for professionals working with children with special
needs. As a part of the initiative, the open university is going to launch a
BEd and MEd for special education courses and preparation of multimedia
packages for the differently-abled. "These programmes are meant to train
teachers on special education,'' asserted V N Rajasekharan Pillai, vice
chancellor, Ignou.
Earlier this month, Ignou and the Commonwealth of Learning (COL)
discussed special education in the open and distance learning (ODL) system,
followed by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Ignou
and RCI, a statutory body of the Ministry for Human Resources Development
(MHRD). Ignou is also proposing to set up a special education committee in
ODL institutions to increase access for learners with special needs.
Ignou will collaborate with RCI in programme design and development of
special education and rehabilitation programme through multimedia distance
mode and would also facilitate delivery and certification of such
programmes.Ignou would also translate the study material for the programme
(awareness-cum-training packages) in eight languages and launch all the
programmes within the next six months. Ignou and RCI would award the degree
and diploma certificate under this programme jointly.
Elaborating on the initiative, Pillai said that there is a need to train
a large number of teachers and that is one of the reasons for launching
these special courses through distance mode.
In order to implement this programme, Ignou is seeking the services of
senior and middle level consultants for promoting and developing
rehabilitation science. The university is going to involve consultants with a
PhD or a Master's degree in social sciences/ rehabilitation sciences or PhD
in the field and Med/ BEd in special education with two to five years of
experience and registered with RCI. Experience in networking, monitoring,
evaluation and implementation of programmes in special education and in
administration of higher education are desirable.

Mittal is first foreigner to run China steel major

Posted by: "Anil" chandrot@gmail.com   vadekandy

Tue Dec 18, 2007 9:05 am (PST)

*London: Indian-born billionaire Lakshmi N. Mittal's ArcelorMittal, the
world's largest steelmaker, became the first foreign corporation to take
over a Chinese steel company by signing a $1.8 billion deal with China
Oriental Group Company Limited, according to reports here Saturday.

However, the landmark deal came in a week that also saw Mittal lose out on a
bid to take over another Chinese steel company, Laiwu Steel, because the
Chinese government refused to give the go-ahead.*

*[image:
http://mail.sidailydose.com/adserver/adlog.php?bannerid=159&clientid=21&zoneid=142&source=&block=0&capping=0&cb=382e228a82141baa1a873e1e3f43eaf2]
**In principle, the China Oriental deal is still subject to approval by
China's ministry of commerce and the state administration for industry and
commerce for anti-monopoly concerns.

But ArcelorMittal Vice President (M&A) Ondra Otradovec said China Oriental
is a Bermuda-registered and Hong Kong-listed private company and so may not
be subject to Chinese regulations that forbid foreign companies from taking
a controlling stake in Chinese state-owned companies.

Under the agreement, ArcelorMittal will acquire a 45 percent stake of China
Oriental from its controlling shareholders, eventually raising it to
73.13percent.

The deal is estimated to cost ArcelorMittal 8.1 billion HK dollars
(US$ 1.03billion) to acquire the 45 percent stake and an additional 6
billion HK
dollars (US$0.7 billion) to buy out 26.87 percent stake currently held by
minor shareholders.*

*No fresh injection of assets is expected because the acquisition will take
two or three years to complete. However, ArcelorMittal may sell some of the
stake to other parties in order keep China Oriental as a listed company. *

*Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal and Laiwu Steel announced Friday that a share
purchase contract they signed in February 2006 will not be extended beyond
Dec 31 because "the contract had not received the required approval from the
relevant government organisations."

Lakshmi N. Mittal, president and CEO of ArcelorMittal, said, "We continue to
view China as an important market and will continue to look for
opportunities where the company can add value to China's steel industry."

Jiang Kaiwen, chairman of Laiwu Steel, added, "ArcelorMittal is well known
as one of the most sophisticated producers of steel products. We are
disappointed that we will not have the opportunity to directly benefit from
this as strategic equity partners, but we hope we may have other
opportunities to work closely together in the future."

With combined revenues of US $88.6 billion in 2006, ArcelorMittal is the
world's biggest steel company, with 320,000 employees in more than 60
countries. It brings together the world's number one and number two steel
companies, Arcelor and Mittal Steel*

Home Remedies for JOINT & MUSCLE PAINS

Joint & Muscle Pains

digg_url = 'http://www.morphemeremedies.com/homeremedies_jointpains.htm'; digg_title = 'Home Remedies for Joint & Muscle Pains - Effective Natural Treatment'; digg_bodytext = 'I like these Home Remedies for Joint & Muscle Pains. These are simple and effective too.'; digg_topic = 'Health'; The skeleton of our body has been provided with special joints or working surfaces where the bones come together. Flexible joints consist of special tissues such as cartilage, ligaments, tendons and capsule or covering for the joint. All these help to bind the bones together. But for real flexibility there must be sufficient lubricant to keep the joint movable and free from pain.
As a rule inflammation occurs most frequently in joints that are used a great deal, such as the fingers, knees, shoulders and spine. Most joint surfaces are smooth and hard, enabling them to carry heavy pressure when in use. The capsule protects the joint from injury and helps to hold the articulating bones in place.
Healthy cartilage is very elastic, able to recoil after any blow or pressure upon its surface. But when this useful substance degenerates there may be a rough grating sound when the joint is moved. Stiffness and pain may follow, particularly in the morning or after a period of rest. The joint may also begin to swell, as excess synovial fluid is poured out to help relieve the pain and heal the tender inflamed joint. All near by tissues, such as tendons, fascia, and muscles may also be involved.
The word arthritis means inflammation of the joints, but in early stages the whole body is usually involved. One or two joints may become completely deformed leaving the patient handicapped and somewhat weakened.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a serious disease that involves the joints but also the muscles, tendons, and other tissues of the body. Rheumatoid arthritis begins mildly with some swelling, pain and tenderness in the joints of the fingers, wrists, knees and feet. In this disease the joints on each side of the body are often involved at the same time. The joints feel unusually warm, and may appear red, and perhaps even contain some fluid.
Osteoarthritis is a chronic form of arthritis that may involve any joint but is more likely to occur in hardworking joints as the knees or fingers. The other causes of joint pain are: Joint injury, infections like viral infections, bacterial infections etc., joint strains, autoimmune diseases, and nervous system disorder.
Common symptoms of rheumatism are fever, immense pain & stiffness in affected muscles in case of chronic muscular rheumatism. Pain or tenderness in a joint which is aggravated by any movement or activity, such as walking, getting up from a chair, writing, typing, holding an object, throwing a ball, turning a key. Excruciating pain and stiffness in the joints in case of chronic articular rheumatism.

We've not forgotten our roots: Indian American doctors

Posted by: "Anil" chandrot@gmail.com   vadekandy

Tue Dec 18, 2007 9:06 am (PST)

*New Delhi: Indian-American doctors Thursday said here that they will help
their native country upgrade its medical education system and train Indians
in the field of emergency medicine.

Over 125 doctors of Indian-origin from the US are in the national capital to
participate in the first-ever Indo-US Healthcare summit beginning Friday.*

*"Let me tell all of you that we have not forgotten our roots, that is
India. We are here to share our knowledge and bring out a recommendation
paper to improve the medical education of the country further," said Hemant
Patel, president of the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin
(AAPI).

Patel said the meeting will attempt to bring together caring and dedicated
physicians from both the countries to focus on six disease areas - diabetes,
heart ailments, AIDS, TB, mental health and emergency medicine.

"Workshop on each area would attempt to identify the best practices for each
therapeutic area and provide guidance on treatment", he said.

"Our ultimate goal is to help patients and focus on providing right care at
right time. This unique workshop will help us understand the scenario here
better and develop healthcare best practices in collaboration with Indian
experts," he told IANS.*

*AAPI is a strong doctors' lobby in the US with a membership of 43,000
doctors of Indian origin.*

*The two-day conference is being organised by AAPI in collaboration with the
Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Medical Council of India (MCI).

"We need your knowledge and you need our experience. We welcome all doctors
of Indian origin to contribute to upgrade our education standard and help us
in learning new medical practices," said Vedprakash Mishra, executive member
of the MCI said.

"I think this summit will go a long way in helping us to improve our medical
course curriculum and learn new techniques," Mishra added.

IMA president Ajay Kumar said the summit would have mutual benefit for both
parties. "While we can learn about emergency medicine from them, they can
learn about tropical diseases like TB from India."*

*Visiting neurologist Sarjit Singh said India has the capability of helping
the global community handle its health problems. **[image:

*"As people with Indian origin, our job is to help our motherland improve in
medical field and sit at par with other developed nations," Singh said.*

When you get something without expecting it, it gives you pleasure.
