 Penelope Crus  Jessica Alba Both Penelope Cruz and Jessica Alba choose off the shoulder gowns with feathery bodice for their Academy Award red carpet walk. Penelope Cruz wore a navy blue feather embroidered gown specially designed by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel Haute Couture. The gown had layers of draped material from the waist, with the fabric gathered at the knee and flared out to the base from the knee. Penelope Cruz makeup was by Chanel Beaute and she wore her hair in a very tight braided bun. Pregnant Jessica Alba wore a loose fitting plum strapless Marchesa gown with feathers in the bodice. Jessica Alba shoes and evening purse were by Jimmy Choo and her jewels were from Cartier. The loose fitted gown helped to concealed her baby bump. Marion Cotillard mermaid inspired designer gown was created by Jean Paul Gaultier and featured fabric shaped into white scale patterns. The gown was gathered at the knee and flared into a fish tail like base. This technique, we noted, was used in Rihanna green dress that she wore to the World Music Awards. Marion Cotillard jewelry by Chopard included a champagne necklace layered with brown diamond bead necklaces and a square cut yellow diamond ring.
