In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale Posted: Mention the name Uwe Boll to any film reviewer whose beat includes genre movies, and you'll probably detect immediate signs of post-traumatic stress disorder. Anyone who has sat through "Alone in the Dark" and "Bloodrayne" will understand why this will only exacerbate it. |
Posted: Little wonder that this remake of a J-horror slipped out during the post-Christmas lull. The direction is uninspired, acting is lifeless, and the script borders on the inept. A PG-13 rating means that it's short on shocks, too. "One Missed Call" probably will die a quick death. |
Posted: From its voice-over narration to its carnal couplings, family drama and scientific adventures, this would-be epic plays out as more than two hours of inflection-free incident. |
Posted: PALM SPRINGS -- Serbia's entry for the 2007 foreign-language film Oscar, this movie -- "which bears some uncanny similarities to Woody Allen's new film, "Cassandra's Dream" --was one of the best films screened at this year's Palm Springs International Film Festival. |
Posted: PALM SPRINGS -- Based on a novel by Ebrahim Ahmad, the 1940s-set "Jani Gal" chronicles Kurdistan's struggle for independence through one man's melodrama. |
Posted: PALM SPRINGS -- Prostitution provides a quick fix -- and an emotional undoing -- for an unemployed husband and father in "Man's Job," the Academy Award submission from Finland. |
Posted: PALM SPRINGS -- Well-deserving of its slot on the Academy Awards shortlist for best documentary, "Autism: The Musical" is a moving testament to love and hope in the face of a diagnosis that seems to be reaching epidemic proportions. |
Posted: PALM SPRINGS -- Badly in need of tuning, "Cosmic Radio" is a scruffy soap opera set in Idyllwild, a Southern California mountain town with a Bohemian streak. |
